Shangri-La-La is a bold, irreverent comedy musical that pulls back the velvet curtain on the glittering illusion of Las Vegas.

Inspired by true events, the show dives into the world of Siegfried & Roy, white tigers, showbiz excess, devilish deals, and the carefully manufactured magic that helped transform Las Vegas from a playground of gamblers and showgirls into a family-entertainment empire.

Guided by the ghost of Bugsy Siegel, this fast-moving festival version follows two German dreamers as they rise from obscurity to become global icons at Steve Wynn’s Mirage Hotel — only to discover that fame, fortune, and spectacle may come with a price. What begins as a dazzling Vegas success story spirals into courtroom chaos, moral reckoning, and a wickedly funny look at the souls people sell to make it in the city where anything can happen.

With original songs, outrageous characters, dark humor, and plenty of smoke and mirrors, Shangri-La-La is part satire, part showbiz fable, and part “revenge musical.” It is a comic, theatrical, and slightly dangerous look at fame, illusion, justice, and the machinery behind the magic.

Mike Meier is a German-born writer, composer, attorney, and musician whose life has taken him from a blue-collar housing project to Argentina, Japan, and Georgetown Law. His grandfather, Wladi-Kami, was a traveling magician and fortune-teller in the 1920s. Peter Giambalvo is a comedy writer and producer whose credits include Mr. Show with Bob and David, Tenacious D, and original projects for Warner Bros. and Current TV. Together, they bring immigrant grit, show-business satire, legal absurdity, and sharp comic storytelling to Shangri-La-La.
