From the perverse minds that brought you Jake Symbol’s Bing Crosby’s Christmas Revival: Live! comes a new play that seeks to answer, “what’s Left of Beaver?” Inspired equally by Hi Honey, I’m Homo by Matt Baume and niche Twitter porn, Jake Symbol, Lea Devon Sorrentino, and Chip Sinton dare to ask.
Situational Beaver follows the Cleavers at a time before pants were short, your mom’s girlfriend was still your aunt, and your dad just wanted to know “what’s for dinner.” Borrowing from the sitcom format, the show becomes a snapshot of today mixing in yesteryear, promising laughs and breaking its promises.
Expect mishaps, pratfalls, sapphic hijinks, c*nty little shorts, and reverse discipline. The show will make you slap your knee, then look at your knee and say, “sorry, I don’t know why I did that.” I love you so much. Dad?

About the Artist
Jake Symbol, Chip Sinton, and Lea Devon Sorrentino are artists working across comedy, theater, film, visual art, and live performance. This is the group's second play created together, continuing a twisted and absurd exploration of live theater.
Their individual practices span stand-up, character work, video, poetry, directing, performance, and visual art. Sorrentino was co-creator of the 2025 Fringe show Bye, Buddy, named “most clever” by The Philadelphia Inquirer. Symbol and Sinton created and directed the short film Bathing Syrup, which won the Weird Visionary Award at Dead Weird Film Fest, 2026.
Together, they distort familiar cultural forms and theatrical conventions into something stranger, funnier, and macabre. As queer artists with deep ties to Philadelphia, they use comedy to examine identity, power, pop culture, and the strange systems people are expected to perform inside every day.
The three are joined by Pim Van and Christine Walden. Pim is an improviser/actor/writer based out of Philadelphia. He has been teaching and performing improv for over a decade. He makes up 1/3 of the improv trio Barko and frequently collaborates with the film collective Nomaster to create horror content. When he is not on stage or behind a computer, Pim teaches and trains at the Jiu Jitsu Company in Old City. Christine Walden is an improviser and performer from Philadelphia and enjoys carrots in all ways.
