About the Artist

Joyous James Whitfield is a vertian Actor/Writer based in Philadelphia. They are proud to step into this new phase of Solo performance and is proud to carry the torch of story telling for the next generation. Their recent credits include The Bookstore- Beacon Theater , The Drag -Ego Poe Theater, Hatshepsut-Beacon Theater, Mommy's Khimar- Enchantment Theater, Suddenly Last Summer- Die Cast, and Mouthful Monologue Festival-PYP. Joyous enjoys spending their time in the classroom teaching theater. They have taught for Philly Young Playwrights, The Lantern Theater, The Wilma Theater and Enchantment Theater. Joyous would like to thank their family for lifting them up, they would like to thank their sisters ( Symaira and Semijah) for always being in their corner and their friends for inspiring them along the way.
