AN INTERACTIVE PLAY - In this multi-media exploration of childhood memories, the audience is invited to participate as the imaginary friends of a young girl named Robin, playing in the woods. What starts off as "all fun and games" soon escalates into a series of moral dilemmas and life-changing decisions. With an ending based on audience choice, The Deer Ones asks what does it really mean to care for another, how do we carry (or release) guilt and loss, and how do the ghosts of the past shape the adults of the future.

Cannonball is the largest hub of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, championing a revolutionary artist-led model that prioritizes equity, experimentation, and community connection. Now in its sixth year, Cannonball presents more than 100 artists across five stages, representing nearly 30 percent of the overall Philadelphia Fringe Festival. From rebellious circus and delicious dance to fearless theater and activist art, Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance while creating a vibrant, artist-centered ecosystem for independent performance makers and adventurous audiences alike.

About the Artist

MoonSquid Nights (Michelle Nguyen) is a squid-like human with tentacles in multiple mediums (paint! film! graphic design! pen&sword play!). She enjoys exploring questions like: (i) how do you capture time, (ii) what makes you “you, ” (iii) what is a healthy amount of guilt, and (iv) can you ever truly own a cat. She is currently inspired by immersive/interactive theater as a mechanism to pause time/space, and create pocket dimensions for everyday adventuring.
