The Sicilian Dilemma

Joe Canuso

Solo Show, Theater

Connect

The Sicilian Dilemma is a solo show written and performed by Joe Canuso (Founder and Former Artistic Director of Theatre Exile) and directed by Gianna Lozzi (Raw Street Productons). The show will be performed at The Parlor (aka Headlong Dance Studio) 1170 S Broad Street, from September 7-12. Tickets for all shows are $25

The Sicilian Dilemma is play about Identity. Using stories of my childhood growing up with a Sicilian grandfather who emigrated to America in 1914, I explore the prism through which I see myself today. The play uses video and song to tell the story of a complex man who lived a life of mystery and adventure, but was not the person he seemed to be on closer inspection.

Ultimately, the show touches on themes of ..."How we define ourselves", "Who we choose to emulate" and "What characteristics we adopt to create an image of ourselves.
