The Trash Sommeliers: An interactive musical where your trash is the star of the show.
The Trash Somms are drinking tea at the garbage dump at the end of the universe when they happen upon a piece of trash that smells like possibility. Could this be a timeline where there is still hope to change hearts and minds, and transform perceptions of trash to prevent the world’s decay? Equipped only with a trash cart/miniature laboratory/hybrid rocket vehicle, these determined drag clowns Excess and Sir will enroll the audience to donate their so-called trash, play in the trash orchestra, and perhaps even join the secret society of timeline interventionists. As the Trash Sommeliers, Excess and Sir are Victorian era alchemists, inter-dimensional activists, hapless bureaucrats, and wise fools.
This absurdist musical shifts between participatory madcap comedy and poignant political critique, and is sure to provide both belly laughs and food for thought.
Themes include ecological futurism, consumerism and late stage capitalism.
