It’s Philly Fringe Season! There are shows to see every day this month. Explore the lineup + get tickets.
The Women’s Film Festival is dedicated to empowering women in the film industry and bringing films “by, for or about” women to the Philadelphia area. We have a variety of programs and events throughout the year but our main focus is our annual film festival. What started as a 3 day festival with approximately 25 films has morphed into a 10 day festival screening approximately 100 films from all over the globe.
This year's event runs from September 18 to September 28, 2025, and includes a dynamic lineup of film screenings, workshops, and networking opportunities for filmmakers and audiences alike.
This landmark year not only commemorates the festival’s 10th anniversary, but also marks our first-ever inclusion of the entire festival as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival—expanding our reach and impact within the city’s vibrant arts community.
Chosen from over 300 submissions from around the world, the selected films represent a wide array of voices and stories. Last year’s festival saw a record number of filmmakers in attendance, some traveling from as far as New Zealand and Thailand. For 2025, TWFF again anticipates a robust international presence, while also shining a spotlight on local talent through the popular PHILLY PHILMS program.
The film lineup will span genres—from heartwarming and comical to serious and empowering—yet all share a common goal: to uplift women’s voices and foster connection through storytelling. The full schedule is available at: www.thewomensfilmfestival.org
