Director Jonah Godfrey (he/him) and Playwright Michael "Dola" Amendola (he/they) are Philadelphia-based theatermakers whose collaborative work blends music-driven storytelling, stylized physical theatre, and imaginative world-building. Both are graduates of the Pig Iron School's MFA program and draw from the well of embodied play, experimental ensemble creation, DIY stagecraft, and a mutual trickster spirit. Godfrey is a director, composer, actor, and sound designer whose Philadelphia credits include work with Pig Iron Theatre Company, Nicole Canuso Dance Company, Applied Mechanics, Sarah Sanford, and Bryn Mawr College. Amendola is a playwright, performer-creator, and educator who has performed with American Shakespeare Center, ZACH Theatre, and Drunk Shakespeare Off-Broadway, and is the founder of PLAY•JAM in Philadelphia. Together they have collaborated on The Bad Pirate Rock Show, MADCAP & BUSTY, and Dreaming the Upside-down Tree. They share a passion for new campfire plays inspired by stories that endure across generations—singing of heartbreak, wonder, and joy.
