Wherever You Are is a site-specific immersive sound experience composed and guided by Joshua Marquez. Audiences will never share the same experience and will have to navigate the Pocket Park to weave their own sonic tapestry, composing their own piece based on where they sit, stand, or situate.
Throughout the Pocket Park of Philadelphia's Roxborough neighborhood, audiences will experience an intimate, outdoor musical offering. Musicians of the ensemble, "in situ" will be spread throughout the small Pocket Park. At any given time or space, audience members may only hear two members of the quintet at a time. In order to hear the immersive experience to its fullest, listeners will have to navigate the space and, potentially, visit for multiple listenings. Seating will be made available thoughout the space, for audiences. It is not required to move, during the performance.
Wherever You Are will be performed by the Philadelphia-based ensemble, "in situ". At the conclusion of the piece, there will be a short break before the ensemble comes together to perform a group improvisation led by a different ensemble member each night. Audiences are encouraged to return multiple times, listen from different perspectives, and immerse themselves in sound.
