About the Artist

Stephanie Scott knew from a little girl she wanted to be an actress. She loves how the actor
can transform into another living walking being. Most especially how beauty can be created
from pain and adversity giving the artist the opportunity to motivate and encourage the
audience through their art.
She always wanted to pursue acting but was told she couldn’t do it so she dismissed that idea.
She loves helping others so she obtained a bachelors degree in nursing from Temple
University. She worked as a nurse for several years. She still had a passion for the arts and
eventually decided to pursue acting. She started with the matriculating theatre and media arts
program at Temple University and participated in a showcase. She went on to train at Tasha
Smith’s workshop and at the Susan Batson Studio for over 8 years and currently trains there.
Stephanie has performed in a web series, 4 short films, one film won first place at the AT&T
creat-a-Thon, she wrote a short film, and wrote a one woman show on Ella Fitzgerald.
Stephanie is also a member of the Arts ministry at her church where she has participated in
several productions.
Stephanie grew up in West Philadelphia where she currently resides. She enjoys reading,
traveling, learning new things and helping wherever she can. During Hurricane Harvey,
Stephanie organized a hurricane relief drive. She collected clothing and other essential
products which were sent to Houston to aide the residents affected by the hurricane.
During her free time, she participates in monthly neighborhood clean ups, and enjoys
stewarding the community garden she and her mother started to encourage health and
wellness in the community. She also founded a non profit, Mending Broken Wings Foundation, where she and her mom host events that provide a safe space for activities and learning while strengthening relationships between the seniors, yo
