Run Time: 90 mins

Venue: Yellow Bicycle Theater

Overview

Jean-Paul Sartre’s existentialist classic premiered in Paris in May 1944, near the World War II apex of Germany’s occupation. This spring, off-off-Broadway veteran Alice Camarota realized her longtime dream of directing the play, with a successful two-week run at The NuBox in Hell’s Kitchen, NY City. Now, the same cast and creative team again bring the play to life for Philly Fringe at Yellow Bicycle Theater, across the street from Love Park in the very heart of Philadelphia.

The premise is simple: Three characters are introduced to a plain, windowless room, one by one. Over the course of 90 minutes, they slowly realize that they will be stuck in the room – and in each other’s presence – forever, with no way out. Along the way, they must come to grips with how their past actions affect their current circumstances, and what it means to be constantly under the observation of someone else…or something else.

Featuring Connor Wilson as Garcin, Amie Margoles as Inez, Mandi Sagez as Estelle, and Thoeger Hansen as the Valet. Produced by Alice Camarota and Thoeger Hansen. Running from Thursday, September 26 through Sunday, September 29. Tickets on yellowbicycle.com/theater.
