College hook-ups, female friendship, football, and a medieval saint who cuts off her nose to spite a pack of rapacious vikings.

Set in the early 2010s at a Catholic university where boys are “burying” their faces in girls’ breasts as part of a schoolwide prank, Nosejob tells the story of a few sorority friends who plot revenge against a group of lecherous jocks. That is until one of the girls, Devon Chase—athletic trainer for the football team—finds herself distracted by more pressing urges.

A ferocious satire, Nosejob asks, how do we reckon with the messy sexcapades of our past? What do we owe to the legacy of women who suffered so that we might flourish? And, are the vikings kind of hot?

About the Artist

Philadelphia-based theater company Lightning Rod Special (SPEECH, The Appointment, and Underground Railroad Game) explodes complex questions with precision and play to make live performance from the ground up. LEE MINORA is a writer, performer, and theater maker in Philadelphia. Her 4th-wall-smashing solo shows, Cheeks and White Feminist, have been presented at Ars Nova, The Wilma, Edinburgh Fringe, London’s Sick of the Fringe, Philly Fringe, Z-Space, Good Good Comedy and UMS’s No Safety Net.

SCOTT R. SHEPPARD is an Obie Award-winning theater artist and a Co-Artistic Director of Lightning Rod Special. Co-creator and performer of Underground Railroad Game (Ars Nova): winner of Edinburgh Fringe First Award and named by "The New York Times" as one of the 25 Best Plays of the past 25 Years.

NELL BANG-JENSEN has been directing and creating theater in Philadelphia for ten years and is the Artistic Director of Theatre Horizon. She has created five original works in addition to directing and producing for Philly’s major theater institutions including FringeArts, People’s Light, Philadelphia Theatre Company, The Wilma, and Pig Iron.
