Overview

In a wild and personal performance of her femme body, dance artist Kayliani Sood brings her mother’s story to life. Together she and singer-songwriter, Franny Lane create soft songs to crack the heart and pour out a daughter’s memories, joys, and grievances. Complicated, tangled stories warp to the music of Amy Winehouse, recontextualized by irreverent and autobiographical caricatures of womanhood.

With over 100 offerings from rebellious circus, delicious dance, fearless theater and activist art to workshops, parties, and more Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance at four different venues this Fringe. About the Artist

Kayliani Sood (she/they) is a queer dance artist, educator, and maker from Saint Peters, Missouri. As a multidisciplinary artist and somatic researcher, their personal work ranges in expression from movement to vocal, written, and visual arts and moves to articulate rich, personal narratives of neurodivergence and femme experience. They hold a BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts, and have performed with Brian Sanders, Curt Haworth, and Vincent Johnson. Sood premiered the dance film Sugar and Blue at the 20/92 film festival, with collaborator Daniel Krantman.
