deprogram is a dance theater quartet directed by Megan Mazarick that deconstructs gender, science fiction, and elements of video games. Working within a science fiction narrative, the work uses commercials, improvisation, and fantasy embodiment as source material to create a Bro duet, tampon vogue party, and contact-based lift sequences. Both improvised and devised text inform the performance as bodies glitch, freeze, prance, and morph in response. Created in collaboration with performers Danielle Currica, Tyler Rivera, and Alonzo Magsino. deprogram is a part of the Cannonball Festival (created by Almanac Dance Circus Theater and MAAS).
