Brief Synopsis of “Hypocrisy the Anti-Sex Mystery”
A Three Act Play Written by
Hypocrisy the Anti-Sex Mystery is a very provocative play dealing with the taboo energy centered around sex. Men love sex. Women love sex. Conversations around sex take place in whispers and under the guise of the forbidden. Intimacy between people in love should not be consumed in the shadows of the shameful especially towards women.
This play is about empowering the voice of women who may find themselves in dissatisfying relationships with no real means of expressing their displeasure to their partner.
The protagonist, Taylor steers the ship with blunt and sometimes graphic conversations about her idea of emotional accountability with respects to what she wants from an intimate relationship while her mother, Felicia, is from a generation where sex is never spoken of. Therein lies the hypocrisy. Of course men love sex. They are physical beings. The hypocrisy comes into play because most women, especially women from earlier generations will not admit that they love sex just as much as men. This dichotomy makes for dynamic interactions between the women and men in this play. Hypocrisy the Anti-Sex Mystery presents interesting scenarios that titillate the imagination of the audience and provokes thoughtful contemplation.
Take the journey with these five women from various generations and four men as they navigate relationships, sex, intimacy and open conversations about sex. Each woman adds their voice to the subject of sex thereby advocating empowerment through open dialog about sex love and communing with the men the will/ and or do love.
