Overview

PLAYLIST a potent taste of my mental health and life unfolding through all of its mess, while discovering access to all of its beauty. Born out of a myriad of experiences from the last six years, this piece moves through spaces of grief, debilitating depression, weakness, falling in love, the joy in finding one’s self, persevering through depression, heartbreak, new beginnings and more to come still pending. Using reenactment, movement and voice as a vessel to express and emote, this performance features a wide range of songs, genres, and lengths with abrupt transitions from one song to the next. Shedding light on mental health awareness and what it takes sometimes to begin the conversation on a personal level, PLAYLIST is a solo work in progress of ‘a solo work in progress’.

Cannonball, produced by Almanac Dance Circus Theatre, is the first and largest independent festival hub of the Philadelphia Fringe that presents risk-taking independent artists in back-to-back performances next to delicious lounge spaces, fostering creative collisions and community conversation.
