Overview

After premiering at the NJ Fringe Festival in 2019 and travelling to Edinburgh Fringe in 2022, 100th Meridian – a company dedicated to theatrical explorations of how rock and roll shapes our lives – brings a one-woman show, They’ve All Gone & We’ll Go Too back home to Philadelphia.  The cast features two-time Barrymore Award winner Charlotte Northeast as Thompson, a woman desperate to get a ticket to the final show of her favorite band, the Tragically Hip. The Hip ended their career as a touring entity after the death of their lead singer and lyricist, Gord Downie, from glioblastoma in 2017. Written by Jared Michael Delaney from a concept by Northeast, and directed by Philadelphia Artists Collective Producing Artistic Director Damon Bonetti, They’ve All Gone… explores what it means to be Canadian in an American world, how music can save your life and how the universe is a far stranger and beautiful place than we give it credit for.

About the Artist

100th Meridian exists to give a theatrical voice to plays centered on rock and roll. Formed by three avid music fans (Damon Bonetti, Jared Michael Delaney and Charlotte Northeast), the company explores how music unites, inspires and uplifts our days from the mundane to the sublime.

The company’s first show, They’ve All Gone and We’ll Go Too premiered at the NJ Fringe Festival in 2019 and travelled to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022.

Currently in development is a show that tackles the magic and mystery of Marc Bolan and T-Rex. The three core artists (all multi-disciplinary in their own right) foster each other’s work by rotating roles, i.e., one serving as director, one as writer and one as performer. With each new show, the artists trade, keeping the art alive and nurturing the craft of the individual
artist.

Unlike a sports event, music serves to unite, bringing together strangers. Rock and roll touches our very souls. Largely through solo performance, 100th Meridian seeks to capture that lighter spark and lift it up, aglow and waving in the magical darkness of a crowded theatre.
