Black & Indigenous Circus Week is a week-long convening for Black and Indigenous circus artists, and a festival within the festival offering over a dozen full-length shows public events for every audience member! You can learn more about IBICW HERE! Please note -- some IBICW events are ticketed separately! Use this event to sign up for or purchase tickets for the following events, workshops, and performances:
IBICW includes four full-length shows and three additional events.

Cannonball is the largest hub of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, championing a revolutionary artist-led model that prioritizes equity, experimentation, and community connection. Now in its sixth year, Cannonball presents more than 100 artists across five stages, representing nearly 30 percent of the overall Philadelphia Fringe Festival. From rebellious circus and delicious dance to fearless theater and activist art, Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance while creating a vibrant, artist-centered ecosystem for independent performance makers and adventurous audiences alike.

Family Friendly Extravaganza
We are kicking off Black & Indigenous Circus Week with a BANG! At the Family Friendly Extravaganza! On September 8th, we are bringing the circus to the park with our FREE Family Friendly Extravaganza. Come be wowed by circus acts from artists all across the nation. Support local youth circus artists by supporting their aerial and ground acts. It's also a chance to learn and meet some of the artists from our Full Length shows and discover more about the panels, workshops, and shows throughout the week.

SMASH
An aerialist & A juggler walk into a studio…what happens? The only way to find out is at SMASH. Ten artists of different circus disciplines will be randomly paired to create an act in THREE DAYS! What magic will happen when an acrobat links up with a lyra performer? How will a juggler come together with a flying pole artist? What wonders can a hand balancer and unicyclist create? Get your tickets to SMASH to find out. With 5 acts for you to enjoy it will be a wonderful surprise and engaging for ALL audiences.

After Dark
The wildest, highest energy late night of the fringe. After Dark the cirque artists come out to perform and it's a show you don’t want to miss. Black and Indigenous circus artists of all disciplines, aerialists, jugglers, acrobats and clowns from all over the country get loose and wild in the third annual Black Circus Week After Dark Cabaret. After a sell-out show last year, this is the place to end your Saturday night.
