REV Theatre Company brings a fresh contemporary vision to existing dramatic works and company created new pieces. Our productions (Hamlet, The Witch of Edmonton, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Comedy of Errors, Othello…) and original Philadelphia Fringe musical pieces (Death Is A Cabaret Ol’ Chum: A Graveyard Cabaret, 1940s Canteen, REV’s Vaudeville, Honky Tonkin’and REV’s Lil’ Ol’ Rodeo Show…) have all been consistently critically acclaimed and have reached over twelve thousand people so far.
We present our work in unique and site-specific spaces: we have performed on the steps of the Art Museum, parking lots in New York and Philadelphia, a pier on the Hudson River, a tiny storefront on the Lower East Side of NYC, the grounds of a Victorian mansion in Cape May, two iconic Philadelphia cemeteries and dozens of parks in the Tri-State Area.
One of our trademarks is the active involvement of the audiences in our outdoor productions. We acknowledge and encourage direct communication and response from our audiences in a collective participation with the performers, the story, the action, the space and each other. These open air productions also enable REV to engage with diverse communities in New York City, Philadelphia, Scranton, throughout Connecticut and upstate New York. We also take our work to veterans, nursing homes, and shelters. Educational programs with children and teens, and senior programs are also an essential and extensive part of REV’s mission.
